This book is ideal for any wine lover or someone who wants to be able to understand what to do when the waiter comes to your table for the wine tasting. I learned how to appreciate different wines and the grapes from various regions. I really learned about vintages, grapes, sweetness and different types of wines and regions they are named after like Bordeaux and Chardonnay. This book will also help you to figure out what wine to serve with foods. I took this book with me a few times to the wine store and I was able to use it to determine the best selection to take along when I am invited over to a friend's house for dinner. Of course I am far from beinga an expert, but this book has given me the confidence to be able to discuss wines and really know what I am talking about! You would have to be a complete novice to not already possess the knowledge in this short read. The entire book read like a prologue, rather than the book itself. The information contained in the book could easily be obtained in a 30 second conversation with your local wine buyer, or even a head server at a decent restaurant.
On another note, for being such a short read the book contains a fair share of grammatical errors. I'd suggest skipping it and not wasting the time I did.
“Be Wine Savvy” is a wonderful guide to wine. It’s written in a easily digestible way and starts of with the history of wine, goes on to explain the basics of wine, getting the best from wine, wines of the world and a buying guide.
There’s a lot of good information in this book for wine buffs. I particularly found the chapter on “food paring” interesting. Also included is a chapter about “wine terminology” and a glossary at the back of the book.
I finally acquired a taste for wine several years ago after thinking it was just bitter tasting grape juice for the longest time. And I'm so glad I did. This book will give you a great overview of the types of wines out there, how they are made, and even the history of wine. My favorite part of the book was the descriptions of the different countries and the types of wine that come from there. I'm looking to expand my knowledge and experience tasting different wines and this book was a big help!
Very helpful for beginners as well as intermediaries. easy to follow along and a nice reference guide. I would recommend this book for someone who is interested in learning about how to approach a great hobby!

I never tasted wine in my whole life, my friends forced me a lot to taste a little but I never did. One of my friend recommend me this book, After reading this book I'm really in love with wine and definitely taste it this time I'll go out with friends. I am pretty new to wine drinking and certainly need a guide to help me along. I am glad to pick up this book as it provides a lot of useful information for a wine novice like me. Among the most useful things I pick up from this book is now I know which wine to select to compliment the dishes that I prepare.
There is even a section on wine terminology that is useful for me as now I can speak the "wine language". Written in a clear and simple to understand manner, this book is suitable for wine lover of all levels.So I urge all wine lovers to pick up this one.
